About My Practice
When clients contact me interested in therapy, their concerns are often about themself, their marriage or relationship, their child or children, or an illness, workplace stress, other life issues, or just wanting to know and understand themselves better for a life of more ease and less problem.
My therapy approach is from a systems thinking perspective. I have 35 years of training in Bowen Family Systems theory. Systems theory views behavior and problems (whether emotional, physical, or social) as best understood through the broader context of the individual or couple's family relationships, present and past, close or conflictual. It is a fact that bringing this wider view of the troubles we face can bring about real change.
Age range of my clientele is 25 and older. For family concerns for children and teens, I find it most useful to consult with parent(s) in consultation.
This type of therapy is a different approach than trauma therapy, attachment theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, and others.
